TNN SPECIAL ELECTION UPDATE

Okay folks, fast breakin’ news… de election results say de followin’ PNM 16 seats, UNC 19 seats, NAR 1 seat. So de PM remains Bas, for ah nex’ five years. DE PNM lose all five marginal seats, but surprisingly pick up 1 seat in Tobago (after 24 years!). Ah suppose PEP split votes in de sister isle.
So from where I stand, Manos is on he way out.. because he say he go resign if he party lorse… which is more dan aparently de case. Not only dat, when he was in government, dey had 21 seats, an’ people start to leave, so by de end of his term he had 19. He call ah snap election an’ get 17, now he get 16. Is there a trend somewhere? Time to get off sonny boy……
Bas is back so he should be even more intolerable, since this is de firs’ time he runnin’ ah party dat have ah majority in Parliament.. all de odder times was jus’ ah accommodation or coalition….. an’ even den he was ah big head twit, so yuh know what go happen dis rounds?! An’ for five years.
On de 2 seats dat de PNM goin’ to contest in court, if de courts decide dat de nominations was invalid, it means dat de UNC go lose two seats, so it go be 18 PNM, 17 UNC and 1 NAR. Which would mean dat NOBODY go have ah majority in Parliament or command de majority of de support, so is either man jump ship to ah nex’ side to form government or is back to de polls.
Ah glad de
2 seats eh go make ah difference to de
outcome, because unlike SOME countries, we could decide who win for weself!
We doh have to be no legal expert to determine dat… de PEOPLE is de
Supreme Court!.
Since de UNC had won de seats, my suggestion is dat de
courts recommend ah bye election to settle de issue, since it go be like yuh
take away de people seats even though de masses vote dem in.
Dat is jus’ my suggestion.
How de Cobra feel about de win…..? Well from information ah get, de EBC
eh ketch half of de scampishness dat went on dis rounds, but de result is de
result.. an’ ah accept it. One obvious benefit is dat we go lose
Pathos…. ah jus’ hope dat de government will be ah little more careful with
dey spendin’, pull brakes on de rampant corruption in awarding contracts and
start to manage de economy better, because we in ah oil/natural gas boom an’
foreign reserves climbin’ slowly, de public debt jus’ went up by at least
$12 billion over de las’ five years, an’ we
still borrowin’….. so wey de money goin’?…. come on man, leh we
buck up… we say we doin’ better dan de las’ set, leh we show dat, wha’
yuh say?!
So come hell, high water
or both, de Cobra still watchin’.. an’ as yuh slip an’ fall
on top de little people, ah jammin’ yuh hard, regardless of who in power!
So how de Cobra fared on E-day? Well, polls open at 6 o clock, an’ yuh boy walk in de gates at 6:02. Mih finger ready to do meh job…. ah join de wrong line (my fault), then had to switch over.. When ah reach de desk, dey mix up de numbers so we had to wait ah 10 mins till dey sort it out… people start to steups….. den ah had to swear (no, I eh cuss nobody!), since ah didn’t have ah ID card, an’ de man lookin’ all round for de proper document.
Ah ask de polling agent to help him… den he call out meh name, loud, loud as if ah deaf! Me ent want nobody to know my name…. what de hell wrong wit’ dese people?!But dat was de only slip up, apparently everything went
smoothly. Ah was limin’ late by
ah couple frens… an’ as ah was leavin’ to go home… ah hear POW, POW!
POW! Ah say “Oh, Lord, somebody
take de result to heart…. ah hope he eh kill he family to!”
Was jus’ some firecrackers goin’ off J .
