Heh, heh, heh….. we on kicks again! We have tuh be… lemme pinch alyuh dis one…. de Ministry of Works and Transport which is responsible for paving roads and for infrastructure have ah $180 M job tuh pave roads in TnT.
Dat good you say…. well after 5 years (is that number significant) and 2 months before an election it is necessary to pave roads. Okay, dat seems innocent enough (if yuh is ah damn fool…!), but get de las’ piece of de pie; dey fin’ dat de ministry doh have de competent people to manage de project so dey han’ de project over to TIDCO (Tourism and Industrial Development Corporation… among other t’ings…) to do de gracious job.
Now tell me somet’ing… what PART of TIDCO deals wit’ road pavin’? An’ how dey goin’ to manage dat collaboration?
Why TIDCO have all dese “qualified” people an’ de ministry (TIDCO is just a company, mind you…), a whole ministry doh have dat competence?
So why yuh didn’t hire somebody, even on contract for de Ministry? So you mean to say dat de ministry cyah do what it suppose to do…? How strange…. An’ how come TIDCO have people to lend to supervise paving in de WHOLEEE country, in one small company?
Dat tells me dat it have some people in TIDCO who have empty
desks, if dat company have so much spare capacity.
Now it have more twists to dis t’ing dan ah corkscrew! De Junior Minister in de ministry of Works is one “Don Juan” Carlos John, who was de chairman of TIDCO not to long ago. Somet’ing is afoot, I tell you.... AND dey say dat TIDCO host 2 multi-million dollar events last year, so dey know how to manage…
When las’ I check, TIDCO hold De Miss(ed) Universe Pageant an’ World Beat Music festival….. two events, EVENTS, ah say… not long term projects… an’ between dem dey lose $100 M dollars. So wit’ dat enviable record, dey now have ah $180 M contract.
Dat is ah special branch of
reasoning called “political logic”.

My opinion is dey shoulda jus’ take de money from de Treasury an’ pave de road wit’ it, because we woulda lose less in de long run!
Interestin’ development in radio land dis week… seems as t’ough Radio 102 has been told by its manager to stop takin’ political broadcast from any political party.. so yuh cyah carry any advertisement for any party…
Why do dat, you may ask? Ah mean, if yuh in de business of makin’ money, if is one time yuh getting’ money is durin’ de “silly season” when dem boys come out to play, den yuh have tuh do what is right for your business!
But ah hear it have
more in de mortar da jus’ de pestle…! Apparently 102 tends to have
radio personalities who tend to be anti-government in nature, an’ de
Opposition tends to use dem to broadcast their programs.
In addition it has de largest listening public of all de stations.
So in one fell swoop, dey take ah dig at de opposition.
Why ah say so.. well de general manager of 102 is ah loyal PNMite, but de
owner of de station is ah Minister in the rulin’ UNC, mister “sharp”
heself, Gillette….. so I cyah be in de government an’ my station have people
who givin’ de government licks! Ah
go bite de han’ dat feedin’ meh..? Ah go take food outta meh own mout?!
Up to now, I eh here de reason why only dis
station stop political broadcastin’……
An’ if you is de government, is no need to get frighten, unless of course yuh have cocoa in de sun…… in which case, yuh better damn well look out for rain…!
Is about time we stop dis tryin’ to muzzle people stupidness…….. let all ideas contend.. if yuh cyah take heat, well boy… de kitchen is not for you!
Well, as we all know de Olympics started last week, so yuh boy glued to de TV… de original “Olympic peong”.
Man, ah eatin’ drinkin’ an’ sleepin’ in front meh
TV.
Dem people is somet’ing else, eh?
Oh gooooooddddd! Yuh does wonder what does drive ah human to give up all
dat for ah medal… an’ den yuh get ah injury or yuh slip, an’ yuh out… we
really have tuh appreciate dem for what dey does do for we every four years.
Of course in TnT, we have de main event… TV6 have rights for de live coverage, an’ tell de cable station who carryin’ de signal dat dey cyah broadcast any live events since dey have de rights. Ah suppose dey wanted to get paid for de rights.
Well de cable company say dey sign ah deal wit’ NBC and de local station TTT to carry it delayed (sometimes live), so if dey cyah show it live, den it have ah simple solution… whenever TV6 showin’ it live dey blockin’ out dey signal, so after dem fellas done gone an’ buy rights for live coverage, nobody cyah see it!
Well papa, is ah row, is ah panic, now TV6 want dem to put dey signal back on because nobody eh advertisin’ on your station if it off de air for 8 hrs ah day, den man say dey payin’ cable bill, but dey eh getting’ all dey stations, so dey want ah refund….. ole mas! Dey still tryin’ to solve de problem…..
On de odder han’ we seein’ NBC delayed, so sometimes yuh already know who win if yuh check de Net…Lord, put ah han’!
But to come back to Olympics, yuh eh like how NBC an’ dem does broadcast?.. “Yes, folks, this is the first time that an Eh-merican has reached the final in this event…” Hence..? Therefore..? “And there is her mum and aunt in the audience, who knows what’s going through THEIR minds..!”
Am, do we really care..? De Olympics is not about the family, okay….. “And Bob, this young man has been through so much and worked so hard for this moment….” Unlike de odder athletes, no doubt, who were doing the macarena an’ drinkin’ Tequila over the last four years!
Hey! There are other nations watchin’ okay… an’ payin’ for it!.. So please keep the unnecessaries for your own programming , web sites or documentaries! Couldn’t we have NBC (No Biased Commentary) for a change!
