Gotta have kaya now….. gottta have kaya now… for the rain is fallimg… Yep, ole Bob Marley chantin’ it out….  Well like everybody in Trinidad and Tobago go be able to have kaya just now, if some people have de way.. for those who confuse, we talkin’ marijuana, cannabis, de herb, weed.. ganja, etc.

Anyway, one of we senators start ah huge debate because he jump up and say dey should consider legalisin’ marijuana since tobacco an’ alcohol cause much of de damage an’ further, it useful for treatment in asthma, provide fibre for rope  an’ a myriad of odder uses.   An’ if dey legalise it  would stop all de underground market, an’ de court wouldn’t be clutter up with cases of Tom, Dick an’ Harry getting’ ketch with ah half gramme on dem, so more serious cases could be tried.  

De man even say dat when he was in Jamaica, he used to drink marijuana tea, smoke marijuana cigarette an’ he wife use to make marijuana cookies, so is no big deal really.  Wha’ alyuh say?   An’ some people argue dat if yuh wasn’t interested in it in de first place, legailisin’ it eh go make yuh use it…. 

Well de Cobra t’ink hard about dis one, an’ ah believe ah could make ah comment….. Ah quite agree dat marijuana have good, wholesome uses an’ in fact we really should allow it for medically recommended treatments.   Ah hear de seed of de plant have real oil too… but ah t’ink we could use odder oils jus’ as well.  

So make it a drug yuh could prescribe for medicinal use.   But de large scale legalisation, ah have problems wit’… not because it less dangerous (an’ what precisely does dat mean.. it doh kill as many people…?) means yuh should legalise it…    Why put one more mind altering drug on de market..?  What benefit de society go get from dat?  Less court cases…?  

If dey fin’ it takin’ too long to process small users cases, jus’ pass ah law implementin’ ah fine (a good fine) for possession rather dan take it all t’rough de courts or, have a special court  for dem kinda cases..    (Dem was suppose to have ah family court since my family was little chilren…. too much talk….too much talk…)

Change de process of de law if yuh want.. but yuh doh have tuh make marijuana use legal because de court system havin’ problems….   Suppose we have problems wit’ cocaine users too… yuh  go make coke legal? 

All over de US dey tryin’ tuh stop young people especially from smokin’ marijuana, why dey doh legalise it? Because dey know dat go do more harm dan good…. Holland try dat an’ now dey have one setta jumbies walkin’ all over de place.  Imagine people lightin’ up an’ den drivin’…or better yet.. ah pilot takin’ ah l’il pull before he lan’ or  take off (in more ways dan one…!).  Yuh want tuh be on dat plane?  

If a man use alcohol, yuh could easily detect it on he breath…..yuh unnerstan’ wha’ ah sayin’, right?   So no ganja all over de place, alright….?  Dat eh doin’ we no good whatsoever.. strictly medical use.. lie dey say.. drugs is for sick people! 

Okay, back to earth now… what de hell we go do for de las’ match.. because if we lose de nex’ one, it go be de first time in 30 years England beat we in ah Tes’ Series…. some ah we wasn’t even born yet…eh?  Fellas, do meh dis nah… save some pride.. salvage some manhood for we… ah beggin’..!

Like is ah sports broadcast, yuh say.. from cricket to football… well dis one is about more dan jus’ goals…

We jus’ beat Panana 6-0 in ah World Cup qualifying match on Wed. an’ nobody was happier dan we…  we at de top of de table an’ if we beat Canada in Sept. we go be practically sure to go through to de nex’ round.

 Is ah pity de quality of de match wasn’t de bes’…. like Paname come wit’ dey 2^nd eleven side, because dey embarrass deyself an’ we help dem along. 

Dem fellas play without any plan, point or purpose.. dey say de ground was too wet.... so it doh rain in Panama…?   Lame, man, lame….. 

Anyway ah go talk football some odder time… what ah want tuh know is … what possess de government to give ALL public servants 2 hours off from work to watch ah QUALIFYING match, an’ we still eh gone through yet… because we still have another semifinal round to play if we come out in de first two in dis group… so we have ah looooonnnggg way to go.  

So why dese seraphins of stupidity give people time off…?  My word….!  We go get ah week off to prepare, if we get to de semi finals…., ent?  AH mean, ah still cyah believe it… DAT is ah excuse for giving more dan 60000 people practically ah half day off?  

Now de Oval could only hold 30,000 if ah correct.. so it mean dat 30,000 people at least get time off to do nothin’ (assuming dat every Public Servant who could, buy ah ticket).. why productivity low again..? 

Why people doh take dey work seriously?  An’ if yuh see Wade Bark, wagging he tail as he deliver de message to de public…!   We does give people two hours off to vote.. so ah suppose ah qualifying match is as important as voting?   Nice,,, nice.. we workin’… we workin… so instead ah votin’ in de nex’ election, ah could stay home an’ watch football den…alright?

COMMENTARY:

Ah feel kinda sad when ah read de news dis week.... ah young fella went to ah doctor office, pretendin’ he was sick, den let he he odder frens in an’ dey try tuh hol’ up de doctor….  Well de doctor had ah licensed firearm, he draw an’ fire, an’ ah 20 yr. ole youth man dead one time.    He odder “partners” bus’ it… “frens does carry yuh, but dey doh bring yuh back”.. remember dat sayin’?  

Den dey arrest some people for hijackin’ ah fella in St. Augustine, takin’ he car an’ puttin’ out de man life… de fellas in dey teens too…..

Ah nex’ one in court on a rape charge.. he was 17 when he commit de act…what really goin’ on? 

Ah young girl abandon she  baby on ah river bank last week…youths, youths, youths….. ah worrisome sign ideeed…

De same people who suppose to be buildin’ up society an’ takin’ over de reins…. instead ah dat, is like we fightin’ against dem, jailin’ dem (de average age in prison droppin’ every year) an’ killin’ dem…. instead ah building togedder, we fightin’ ah war. 

How we reach here?  No genius required…. we let odder people raise WE chilren.   So everyt’ing from away was good, an’ all what we “uneducated” an’ “ole-timers”  tell we was for yesterday.. dey doh understand “today’s society”.  

It might surprise some ah we dat human beings eh change, dey jus’ in ah different environment…ah pig in ah palace is still ah pig (now I eh call nobody ah pig, eh…!)…. but we doh understan’ dat kind ah talk…. we is “modernists”.    Well, now we have modern problems….. an’ it not getting’ any better… but  Rudder did sing bout de hot foot youths we breeding….. who checking for de material or money above everything else…
