CARICOM(E) AND GONE.....
Yeah man, if America t’ink dey have talk show, we could gi’ dem talk show in dey pfeffen!..…. Dis week, de CARICOM heads of (bad) government was in town, an’ if yuh hear dem fellas bumblin’ dey gums….. how integration is ah mus’ an’ we go either float togedder or sink separately…. an’ all ah dat, which is good talk eh, except dat we hearin’ it since 1959….
Look long time now people travellin’, workin’, marryin’ an’ livin’ togedder as one in dis Caribbean… it suddenly have ah problem wen it come to de politicians (though ah see de fiancee of de St. Lucian PM is ah Trini…. ah agree wit yuh boy, yuh cyah do better dan best….ent?)…dey talkin’ ‘bout settin’ up Caribbean Court of Appeal so we doh have tuh have tuh go to England if we want judgement, which again is good, but maybe we shoulda be talkin’ ‘bout how tuh reduce crime, so we doh have tuh jail we young people dem.. dey talk about common market, instead ah how we could have joint industry.. dey talk ‘bout West Indies cricket , and de heads even play ah cricket match in UWI… all ah could say is…. dem fellas brave (…or like we say dey have Real Belly {hangin’ over dey belt an’ reachin’ dong tuh dey knee}….look nah, if yuh eh go look after yuhself, yuh go look after ah country…?)… instead ah talkin’ ‘bout why we cricket bad, talk about why we could never seem tuh make use of we talents…is not cricket alone, is football, basketball, badminton, swimming…any sport.. ask why we sport management so dam bad…doh focus on only one sport…dey had de media coverin’ de Summit, which didn’t reach no high point as far as I concern…. (yuh know dey eh give TNN no Press Pass…buh wha de hell is dis…?! So we eh media too?).
Ah mean, dem fellas suppose tuh be bright an’ yuh cyah get some l’il islands togedder, with same history, same language, same kinda people…wat more yuh want? Yuh could imagine dem fellas tryin’ yuh unite Europe boy…? Everybody want tuh be ah king, nobody want tuh be ah subject…. dey even want tuh move de Headquarters from Guyana an’ put it somewhere else (it was ah stupid place tuh put it anyway.. Guyana quite tuh hell south of all de odder islands, but yuh know how we stop.. dey go feel left out, so against all de rules of common sense, dey put the CARICOM Secretariat dey…… dem fellas give stupid ah bad name).. but I agree, leh we move de headquarters an’ put it in de States, because as far as I concern, dem fellas consider dat is de center of de Caribbean……

Well, boy, look trouble…… in Tabaquite dis week, de people block ‘bout 10 place along ah stretch ah road, put boulders, tyres, stone, tree… whatever dey could put dey hans’ on in de way…. dey say dey fed up wit’ de state of de road, an’ dey want it fix yesterday….. an’ dey want tuh see dey representative…. No vote without representation….(Trini style)….
Minister of (mis)Education, Adesh Nanan who is de people an’ dem rep., say how he went dey already…in odder words de people lyin’ or he mus’ be ah ghost… Papatrick Manning (Leader of (no)Opposition) gone dong dey to see de people… why ah doh know….. he eh no road engineer…an’ Addy say dat is ah intrusion (ah t’ought dis was ah free country…de man cyah go wey he want…?) an’ how people shouldna permit dat kin’ of interference…. In odder words dis is “We” district…!
Yuh wonder why education in such ah mess……now yuh see wat happenin’…. politicians doh work except at election time so de people decide tuh react at election time tuh get t’ings done…. so we becomin’ ah nation of “1 mont’ before polls” people. We does only see t’ings wrong at election time an’ for de nex five years, we lie back an’ take it easy…. monkey see, monkey do…. den Addy go an’ tellin' chilren tuh work hard, all de time, not jus’ wen exams comin’… yuh expeck dem tuh listen tuh yuh?
An’ by de way, ah t’aught road works was ah local matter an’ fall inside de Ministry of Works…. so why Addy boy in de area skinnin’ he plate? Oh, ah forget… he is de people dem Representative In Parliament (R.I.P.…ain’t that somet’ing..? Like he dead or wat…? All dis time de roads in ah state an’ he eh see nuthin’ ?)… well like he forget too…. but as de people dem set de blockades alight, like we Trinis does say……“dey put fire in he tail….!”

Well, guess wat? In de middle of de CARICOM meetin’ de Venezuelan president reach tuh talk tuh Bas an' nex’ t’ing de Spanish PM land……
De Spanish PM offerin’ tuh teach we spanish in primary school, which is ah good t’ing, except dat I t’aught we coulda go right tuh South America an’ fin’ people….. Venezuela only 7 miles away….. me t’inks it have more in de mortar dan jus’ de pestle…. Chavez (Ven.) come tuh talk ‘bout settin’ up university in Venezuela an’ oil pact an’ all kinda t’ing. Now I ah little cautious wit’ dat one, eh… because de man doing all kinda t’ing in he own country, ignoring Constitution, threatenin’ tuh dissolve Parliament, doh like people talkin’ back tuh him etc.., so leh we see wey he goin’ before we jump in for de ride…. but den again, Bas already threaten de Media wit’ he White (toilet) Paper on de Media, den he want tuh jail anybody who sing “divisive” songs, he frien’ an’ dem getting’ big contract, an’ he favourite minister roughin’ up an pullin’ gun, so maybe Chavy feelin’ right at home… one warnin’ BAS… remember wat de Cobra say.. “birds of ah feather does get pluck togedder….”
ELECTION CAMPAIGN......
Ah could assure yuh, it really painful tuh watch dese fellas on de trail…… it suppose tuh be ah LOCAL government election, but man talkin’ ‘bout old age pension, an’ minimum wage, an’ water project, an’ de economy… dem t’ing is NATIONAL issues…oh gorm get it right for ah change nah…. local gov’t is about road, and community centres an’ community industry, cleanin’ drain, health centres…. yes …..dem kinda t’ing.
Den PNM (Patrick National Movement) have one setta add wit’ Maddening big face smilin’ at yuh… de man not even runnin’ for local election, he is de Opposition Leader, so he face shouldn’t pick up half de advertisement…. an’ how he is such ah man of integrity an’ all kinda t’img… breds, he have no influence in de local councils, so dat have nothin’ tuh do wit we right now…… den UNC have add wit’ people sayin’ how t’ings so nice since they come in power an’ tellin’ we tuh vote UNC….. it backfiring…. people getting tired ah seein’ de same ads every day all de time… jus’ tuh make de ads stop dey might vote dem out….
Den dey have ah ad callin’ de PNM Hqt. Jurassic Park…besides de idea bein’ from de States, what exactly de ad mean…. wat is de point? Spielberg shoulda sue dey tail for usin’ he movie name… of course de odder Minister “Gunraj” Singh only winin’ dong on de platform… dey put on ah chutney song an’ de man start tuh wine an’ put dong some good “jook”, so like we have to call him de “Jooker” from now on (or ah wa(i)ste of time…ah funny eh…?), an’ he say tuh get t’ings done yuh have tuh rule wit’ ah iron fist… an’ dat is de PM wonderboy (ah wonder why..?) who he so proud of….
