Well, seems as though de criminal community have found a new way to rake in profits…..as dey say in de ole US of A….we want you!…

"You" here meaning any unsuspecting business person or dey relatives. We have had close to a dozen kidnappings in de las’ 7 months an’ is like dem boys on ah spree….. yuh drivin’ nice, nice.. somebody bounce yuh from behin’…yuh come out to put dong ah cuss on de $%#^@&* driver an’ nex’ t’ing yuh know, you is de PASSENGER in he car!   One in de bag!  Or yuh step out de car to open yuh gate an’ is screeecccchhhhh! Car pull up, snatch! Grab! Shove….ayo Pancho! Yuh sleepin’ in ah different place tonight..!

So far, thankfully, nobody eh get killed yet an’ de families keep on payin’ de ransoms, which kinda encouraging dem, but brudder, you have time to t’ink ‘bout dat when yuh chile or husband missin”?!

Of course de poor police getting’ blame, but how yuh expect dem fellas to keep watch on every rich person? How dey go know who nex’? Ah mean, dey doin’ dey bes’, an’ wit de lack of technology (everywhere we rivalling de world in technology, but not in de Police department!) dey boys really up against it….

Ah remember reading dat in Brazil, dem rich boys does get helicopter to fly dem in to meetings an’ home, because dey fraid to go out in de street..  Ah hope we eh head dong dat road, because in Trinidad, de pilot go miss de roof an’ is poor pedestrians below to ketch!

But all dis is jus’ ah sign of de times.. people feel dey shouldn’t work, but dey mus’ live nice…"dem 'rich boys' only oppressin’ we..", doh min’ yuh never bodder wit’ school or try to learn ah skill afterwards… dat is irrelevant… dey suppose to hire we… dis country have too much money for we not to get some, etc., etc…

De las’ report say it have over 4,000 jobs advertised an’ people still complainin’ it eh have jobs (an’ dose is dem dey advertise, eh!)….get ah grip nah man!

Some businessmen want guns to protect deyself…not realising dat unless yuh is “Quick draw Mc Graw” or “Billy de Kid”, yuh eh goin’ to reach dat gun, aim an’ fire, before yuh get snatch.. or dat yuh better have dat gun strapped to yuh like ah underwear everywhere yuh go…..!

My simple suggestion is.. get more cars for de Police, tell some of dem Police stop droppin’ dey woman an’ chile all over de place when yuh suppose to be patrollin’… an’’ start back patrolling, especially high risk or high crime areas.. dat way, if anybody get grab, it shouldn’t have police too far away…. ah rather simple solution if yuh ask me.. but den gain, most tings are…is jus’ dat we like to be difficult… but ah mus’ add, ah fella like me in real trouble, because me eh have no money to buy mehself out an’ nobody eh go pay to get meh back! Pressah!
 

CONSPIRACY THEORIES...

Yeah man, we have we own thick plots dong on dis side too…de ole Bas (or de “Dey out to get meh” man) is once again soundin’ off…wit’ as much effect as ah conch shell!

Since de Integrity Commission investigatin’ him for not declarin’ ah account of some millions of dollars, he on he high donkey dese days (difficult to tell who de donkey is dis rounds!).  He say de Integrity Commission in collusion wit’ de government, den he say de Police in collusion wit’ de government, den he say de DPP office in collusion wit’ de government and finally de British High Commission in collusion wit’ de government, since de bank account in England an’ how come all dis information bein’ leaked to de Press? Dat is ah violation of some treaty or de other…. NOTHING as to why de bank slips showin’ over TT$5M, eh!

But den again, dis was de same man who was seein’ ethnic cleansing in Trinidad, a sliding T&T dollar, social unrest , violence and people living in terror of their lives, so maybe since he busy seein’ what eh dere, he eh see what was really dere....de bank acount!

So poor fella, he eh have no frens…everybody against him! He say he goin’ an’ tell all an’ put de matter to rest, so de “tell all” was dat it was a account he open for open heart surgery an’ leave it open afterwards for he children education…..

Well is either he children buy de school or he have ah realllll BIG heart, because dat account jus’ skyrocket…..a n’ he claim he forget to declare it since he wife was managing it for family education…

So ah unemployed woman dabbling in millions of dollars....yep..dat soundin’ reasonable….

Why dey doh fire me, boy?!  Maybe if I unemployed, I go make dat kinda dough!

So now de investigation gone further.. rather dan jus’ not declarin’ de account, de Police want to know wey de hell dat money come from….! 

Interestin’ scenario…in de midst of all dis he goin’ away to raise funds for de upcoming election (more money again?!) …to de US dis time, provided of course dey let him in….. ah mean, nex’ t’ing yuh know, Uncle Sam might be in collusion wit’ de PNM and might ditch he nephew!

 

BLIND DATE.....

Not to be outdone, mind you,  Ole Pathos is doin’ his bes’ to make sure de chances at de polls are even-stephen! Now, yuh in government some 7 months or so, you have called Parliament, prorogued parliament because Bas an’ de boys eh co-operate, so de country kinda on auto pilot for de time bein’….now if I was in dat position, I would try to show people dat I eh fraid polls, dat I eh fightin’ to stay in power (though I am!) an’ jus’ keep everybody mind at rest…. yuh believe de man decide to spend money on ah Public Service Reform program dat go last 3 years?!

Now wey de sense in dat?!  Tell meh…!  Suppose yuh lose de election… havin’ hired consultants an’ all dat, yuh t’ink de new administration go keep dem or fire dem….?  Tough question, eh?  Ah mean, plan short term, tell people what yuh have in mind for de long term and deal with dat…..

A lot of groups callin’ for elections (Bas especially…de only way to stop dem investigation an’ commissions of enquiry dat dealin’ some body blows to he party) an’ all de man will say is.. “Dey will be called when dey are constitutionally due..   If we cannot elect a Speaker of pass ah budget by October 31st, we will call an election….” Yeah, but WHEN? WHEN?

De Local government bodies time in office done lapse, so now dey completely under the control of de Local Government minister, i.e, de Local government bodies being controlled by Central government..  Now isn’t dat ah contradiction in terms….?

He eh even call Local government elections! Which woulda be an indication of yuh support base and yuh could plan based on dat, etc…..  Dat man mus’ be get ah double dose of dotishness!

Set ah date for de elections.. what so hard about dat?!  No, he hoping some UNC MP jump over, or maybe he hopin’ to have Bas in jail by den, so when he call Parliament, he could have ah majority, elect ah Speaker an’ hold onto power for ah nex’ five years…

If he allow dat to happen, dat would be de most underhanded, low life way of keepin’ in power…dependin’ on de Police help yuh rather dan be legitimately elected by people…  If he t’ink he in hot water now, he cocolux go be real and truly cooked den!

Come on man, stand up straight for ah change…even if yuh say de date is October 31st, at least people know dey have so much time.  De Election and Boundaries Commission could prepare with date in mind, etc… no, it mus’ come like ah t’ief in de night….

A couple weeks ago, he dey in Mayaro like ah clown bawlin’, “Ah have de date in meh back pocket, alyuh want it?!” as if you is de oxygen of de political life of dis country !

Foreign investors jus’ watchin’ on, because nobody eh puttin’ money down if dey eh sure what happenin’…..only de big oil and Natural gas companies still comin' because whoever in charge, dem always welcome!

Pathos rather wait until all de time allotted to him run out an’ an’ den be dragged kickin’ an’ screamin to de polls! Dat is he idea of governance……all now it have ah special committee working on Constitutional reform (which he agreed to since last year!), but like he forget dat…so if he come in office again he go have to start from scratch……..after six years in Opposition de man eh learn nothing, nothing, nothing!

Remember de ole joke.. if Bas an’ Pathos in ah sinkin’ boat an’ yuh could only save one, who yuh go save? Answer: None, dat way you go save de country!  
 

RUN, BOYS, RUN.....

Ah have to mention de excellent performance by we boys Darrell Brown and Burns in de jus’ concluded World Junor Championships.. dem boys clock ah one-two in de 100 M finals an’ break de record while dey at it! S

ome bad baton passin’ in de relay kinda tie we up an’ we get ah bronze. But dem fellas keeping we flags flyin’ boy…!  Dem faster dan ah politician being chased by ah Police!  An’ dey eh boastful about it…dey jus’ doin’ dey business, beatin’ de boots off all odders an’ makin’ we proud.. see yuh nex’ Olympics in Greece!  Ah hear dey have ah medal wit’ alyuh name on it..!

KICK OFF....

An’ doh forget de Under 20 football team, who, t’anks to de T&TFF an’ de Ministry of Sport, playin’ up in dey tail an' almost couldn’t get money to go to ah Championship in Suriname until de las’ minute, ended up having to get military plane to drop dem, an’ even so only 11 of dem arrive for de game jus’ before de start, so dey play without substsitutes, right off de plane and put some goals on de opposition and still qualify for de nex’ round! Dat is dedication and fightin’ spirit…! Meh heart does feel light when ah see dat!

An’ while we on dat, de Minister of Sport an’ de Football in ah hang-hang….  Apparently one blamin’ de other for de embarassment of havin’ de footballers stranded, so de T&TFF say dat dey cuttin’ ties wit’ de Ministry (aren’t dey a smart lot?!) because dey feeling hurt an’ how de Minister call on dem to resign (he didn’t ..de sports advisor had said if dey couldn’t get their act togedder dey should resign..) an’ one setta tra-la-la..

It would be interestin’ to see how dey survive without governmental support..  Dis is de sport dat has spent de most money, dat has seen de most overseas coaches, dat is as popular as cricket and has de most talent available to it an’ has consistently produced the poorest returns over the last 12 years, with de SAME administration!

So what is de problem……? I wonder……? An’ if yuh have ah disagreement, why not sit dong an’ talk it out for de benefit of the players….dey need all de supposrt dey could get from every quarter, but you decide to cut out a portion of dat support because YOU feel insulted….. Trust me, wit’ dat kinda attitude , football eh have far too go again…we very near de bottom!
